It was a pleasure to speak at the Innovation Summit organized by e-Chakwal, where I had the opportunity to engage with young students, freelancers, and aspiring entrepreneurs about building a sustainable career through freelancing.
During the session, I shared my own journey in the technology and freelancing industry and discussed how freelancing can become more than just a way to earn online. With the right skills, mindset, consistency, and understanding of the global market, freelancing can become the foundation for a long-term professional career.
I discussed practical steps for getting started, including developing in-demand digital skills, building a strong portfolio, communicating effectively with international clients, and understanding platforms such as Fiverr and Upwork. I also highlighted the importance of moving beyond individual projects by developing long-term client relationships and eventually building teams, agencies, products, or technology businesses.
A key part of my message was that freelancing is not simply about finding gigs; it is about creating value and solving real problems for clients. As technology and AI continue to transform the digital economy, freelancers need to continuously learn, adapt, and develop skills that remain valuable.
The Innovation Summit provided an excellent platform for meaningful discussions with young people who are exploring careers in technology, entrepreneurship, and the digital economy.
I am grateful to e-Chakwal for inviting me and for creating opportunities that encourage young people to think beyond traditional career paths and explore the possibilities offered by technology and freelancing.
